
BLAIR WATERWAY DDT AND PCB'S GOING TO DUMP
The 304th Dump is privileged to receive the contaminates of DDT and PCBs and God knows what else from the dredging of the Blair Waterway with the blessings of our Health Department. They have decided these contaminates are not harmful for the dump but TOO contaminated to leave in Commencement Bay.
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) determined that DDT may reasonably be anticipated to be a human carcinogen. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) determined that DDT may possibly cause cancer in humans. The EPA determined that DDT is a probable human carcinogen.
