Landfill must not be built

Is the Puyallup River more important than the Nisqually? The News Tribune has been publishing articles and an editorial (4-29) about how vital it is to fix the watershed of the Puyallup River to protect the salmon.

Don't you people in Tacoma and environs know that the proposed dump site at 304th and Meridian sits on an aquifer which empties into Muck Creek and eventually the Nisqually River? And of course the river empties into Puget Sound. Any leakage at the dump would have a far-reaching effect on salmon as well as other environmental concerns.

This fight with Land Recovery Inc. is not a NIMBY issue. A problem at the dump site could have much more far-reaching problems. I dare you to come out and see the proposed dump site. It is dangerous. We must stop this madness now.
